The Texas Rangers are a major league baseball franchise which came to be in the year 1961. When the team was created, it played under the name the Washington Senators. The team set up shop in Arlington, Texas in 1972 and became the Texas Rangers. The team changed ownership a few times since then, to include former Pres. George W.
